Those who play...
Play against the entire world.
There are no saves.

There is only one chance.

Well, well, looks like for once, Singapore is accurate.

Chistopher Michael Lee, a.k.a. Chrissy Poo, is out of the competition.

Now left in the run for Singapore's first Idol are Olinda Cho, Taufik Batisah, Daphne Khoo, Sylvester Sim and Leandra Rasiah.

Looks good in the running, the most important thing is that Singapore makes the correct final decision.

I'm incredibly free today. Except that I'm not supposed to.

So anyway...

I think my keyboard's dead. Now I have to use the old one I stoved off, with a very problematic "e". Well.

We're half an hour away from this week's Singapore Idol results, and I'm telling you, it's going to be a scare, unexpected but logical. Just watch.

By the way, I'm still running a thirty-seven point nine five, sligtly feverish and feeling just that little nauseous.

Catch you with the results later.

It's October 29, 4 PM. What am I supposed to do? Study for my upcoming 'O' Level examinations. So what I am doing? Obviously not that, even though I did do some A Maths a while ago.

Yesterday was going to be our last day of school, and today was going to be free time. I woke up quite early, and everyone has already either gone to work or gone to school.

I played Maple Story for a few hours, then downloaded some songs... Stuff that if I keep talking about might just put you to sleep.

Now I feel sick. Seriously. Sick. Running a fever of thirty-eight point oh seven degrees Celsius. It's not very high, but nevertheless.

I left out some points on the blogging/typing thing. It's a bad habit of a lot of people I know.

I hAtE iT wHeN pEoPlE tYpE lIkE tHiS aNd ThEn ThInK iT lOoKs GoOd. FaCt: It DoEsN't. It OnLy SeEmS tO mE tHaT yOuR fInGeR iS tOo FrEe AnD dEcIdEs To PrEsS sHiFt FoR eVeRy OtHeR lEtTeR. bAd FiNgEr. FrEaKiNg PrAnKsTeR.

And... Also..... The type of people.... That... Does this.... All the time..... What are you... Sick......? Do you..... Have a grudge...... With the fullstop........? So please...... Stop sounding...... Like you're whining........... Or.......... You have a speech.... Defect...........

of course there are types who have no idea what punctuation is and keep typing and typing and typing without ever stopping to catch a breath imagine trying to read this out and have no commas or fullstops to help you pause and catch a breather my fingers are moving incredibly fast right now because i dont need to stop to put punctuation see i dont even put the apostrophe for the dont and i didnt even quote it good for you if you know where to pause and too bad you people who just have the follow it non stop i dont even shift for i this is less common but i have seen such things so please try not to do this i think im ready to suffocate

Óf ¢øµr§ê thêrê ãrê þêøþ£ê whø µ§ê thì§ kìñÐ øf £êttêr§, whì¢h ìs êvêñ £êss ¢ømmøñ ßê¢ãµ§ê Î hãvê ñø ìÐêã høw thê h꣣ thê¥ ¢ømê µþ wìth thê tìmê ãñywãy.

I'm frustrated just doing that line. Now I have to sleep.

PS: If you want to see what that gibberish is, set your browser to Unicode (UTF-8). Go to View, expand Encoding, and click on Unicode (UTF-8).

Physics practical today. Ah... I guess I'm safe, after hearing Mr. Junus' answers. not exactly a big load off my mind, but... Never was.

We had to spend four freaking hours in the AVA, and to be honest, wasn't too shair-beh. Had quite a time. After two hours 4e2 joined us and we were one big jolly bunch. Before that though, was a Bio practical practice. We did drawings of lime and capsicum... And Jo craved one half of a capsicum into a Jack o' Lantern. Coincidentally, he had a light with him, and everyone was saying how cute it was. Aw.

No. It looked great, but no. Not cute.

Anyway so after that she showed bad examples of capsicum longitudinal section drawings and hello, hello, Weijie and Cheong Long had drawings that looked like sagging breasts in bras. At least that was the interpretation from some of the people in my class.

So just right before the e2s came in we cut the cake for Xinyi's birthday today! Chocolate ice cream chocolate cake sprinkled with what I think is Milo powder. Total choco. Ergh. I almost didn't want it.

And then e2 came in and I joined Kok Siang with his mp3 player. After a while he mentioned playing basketball... And it was cursed. We weren't supposed to talk about it at all, and were supposed to code it by saying we were "going to the arcade". We guys went off together, and then we split. Kok Siang and Jo went home, Jiawen met his mother (I think) at the new food court on the first floor in Vista Point, while I and Jingwei went to Viva.

After he ate and we finished talking about the aftermath of Man U - Arsenal (Man U won, by the way, 2-0) we split yet again and he went off, leaving just me. I went looking around and went down towards the bus stop at the back of Vista Point. I saw Mei Ting! She didn't saw me, though, because she didn't have eyes on the back of her head.

So I followed her anyway, and at the junction I turned and in my horror, there was the bus at that stop! Making a swift but stupid decision, I made a dash for the next stop. I was determined (some people think that word isn't in my vocabulary) to get on the bus, and in the process, regretted it instantly.

By the time I sat down on the bus, I was panting like a dog (if that's a correct comparison, you know what I mean). So I came back and slept. Fine. Then I got up and tried out that new game called "Maple Story", which by the way, isn't so hard. yet. It's like a cross breed of Super Mario (remember the 2D environment and the mushrooms?) and Ragnarok (incredibly confusing classes and stuff), and seems fun.

Well, I guess that'll be all. Good night, good write.

Blogs have always come to me as something to express your feelings, your ideas, record your happenings and most of all, communicate. It has been said it's a good way to improve your English.

And seriously, I don't see any of the effects that has been described in introductions about bad English in blogs. So far, all I've seen in comments over the place are stuff like "Whoa, nice blog", "nice template", "nice", "nice", "nice", "nice", "nice". Almost nobody says anything about the actual text part of the blog posted. Why? Oh, because it has got nothing to do with them? Probably, but most of all, it has nothing to be praised about.

1) "I Singaporean leh. The blogs I see also. Bad one. Everyone type like that one. Singlish only mah. Our national language. Nothing wrong what." - Nope, something wrong. I have serious problems about the previous statement.

2) "ytd i go amk play cs den go cwp play ddr no $$ liaoz" - Incredible. Year-to-date you went to Ammattikorkeakoulu to play CS, and then you went to the Citizens' Will Party to play DDR, and now you have no dollar signs? And what the heck is "liaoz"?

3) "F***. B******. B****. TMD. CCB. KNN." - I must say you have an impressive range of vocabulary, but try to use less, no, none of it.

I'm trying to improve everyday. Some people blog for a whole quarter of year and still suck.

I'm quite sick.

Well. So.

My dad's lent me his phone. I've been using it this entire day. Allow me to enjoy this moment of euphoria right now.

Shh... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Ok, I'm done. ... ... Hmm. So I can cancel it, right? Yay!

Alright, back to the usuals.

The day started bad. Late for school. Why? Oh, erm, I don't know, maybe it's because of the FCCBs and the stupid 901 schedule that comes like, oh, once every year?

Forget it, no. So then we had lessons. Half the day we were free, no correct teachers came in for the lessons. Mr... Mrs... Ms... (Who!?) came in early in the morning, then Mdm Zhang, then... I forgot. After recess was mrs. Loh, that I remember. Mr. Junus came in for Physics. We were busy doing Maths and Physics before that.

So we went through any last stuff for the Physics practical tomorrow, and then did another mock paper 1, from... Riverside, was it? Yes. After we went though everything we just went off. I went out to the bus stop and saw five teachers there.

I jaywalked a little, and there was an ambulance coming from quite a distance away. Then I heard one of them saying "careful not to get knocked down by the ambulance". Then I said, "If I get knocked down by an ambulance, that would be the most ironic thing ever."

Yeah, that was fun. Then I took the bus, got off at my usual stop.

Then from that point on I don't want to talk anymore because it's boring.

The Road Not Taken - by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both,
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Keating: Mr. Andersen thinks that everything inside of him is worthless and embarrassing, isn't that right, Todd, isn't that your worst fear? Well I think you're wrong, I think you have something inside of you that is worth a great deal. (Begins writing on blackboard) "I sound my barbaric yawp over the rooftops of the world. W. W." Uncle Walt again. Now for those of you who don't know, a 'yawp' is a loud cry or yell. Now Todd, I would like you to give us a demonstration of a barbaric yawp. Come on, you can't yawp sitting down, let's go on, come on, up, gotta get in yawping stance.
Todd: A yawp?
Keating: No, not just a yawp, a barbaric Yawp.
Todd: Yawp.
Keating: Come on, louder.
Todd: Yawp.
Keating: Oh that's a mouse, come on, louder.
Todd: Yawp.
Keating: Good God, boy, yell like a man!
Todd: YAWP!
Keating: There it is. You see? You've got a barbarian in you after all. Now, you don't get away that easy. A picture of Uncle Walt up there, what does he remind you of? Don't think, answer.
Todd: A madman.
Keating: What kind of madman?
Todd: A crazy madman.
Keating: No, you can do better than that. Free up your mind, use your imagination, say the first thing that pops into your head, even if it's total gibberish, go on, go on.
Todd: A sweaty-toothed madman.
Keating: Good God, boy, there's a poet in you after all. There, close your eyes, close your eyes, close 'em, now describe what you see.
Todd: I close my eyes.
Keating: Yes.
Todd: And this image floats beside me.
Keating: A sweaty-toothed madman.
Todd: A sweaty-toothed madman with a stare that pounds my brain.
Keating: Oh that's excellent, now give him an action, make him do something.
Todd: His hands reach out and choke me.
Keating: That's excellent, wonderful, wonderful.
Todd: And all the time he's mumbling.
Keating: What's he mumbling?
Todd: Mumbling truth, truth like a blanket that always leaves your feet cold.
[laughter]
Keating: Forget them, forget them, stay with the blanket, tell me about the blanket.
Todd: You push it, stretch it, it will never be enough, you kick at it, beat it, it will never cover any of us. From the moment we enter crying to the moment we leave dying, it will just cover your face, as you wail and cry and scream.

*********

The day started fine. I woke up when I felt like it, around 10. Then I made breakfast for myself and my sister. Eggs, sausage and toast. Mmm. Wished you were my sister, didn't you?

Anyway after that I think I forgot what happened, I spent most of the day unsure about what to do, I picked up my A Maths and dropped it on the table again after a while. I watched Van Helsing! Yes, finally. It wasn't as good as I expected, but what the heck.

Right now I'm waiting for the big clash between Manchester United and Arsenal. Who will win? I don't know, but I hope it's Arsenal.

And that's it, I guess.

Saturday, October 23, 2004

The boss of an optical was telling his new employee all the stuff he needed to know. For example: First, tell the customer "It costs $128". If the customer doesn't have a reaction, tell him "That's for the frame, it'll be another $100 for the lens". If he still doesn't flinch, say "Each".

******

This morning, I woke up to my dog stepping all over me, again and again, as if trying to stomp me flat. Nope, it wasn't his idea, it was my mum's. Lured him with his toy and got him running on my back. I never gave up. She then resorted to other methods, one of which eventually worked.

So I went down after watching some TV, and got lunch. Then I waited for my dad to come back, and after an hour or so we went to Turf City.

There, my parents signed new plans and got a couple of Panasonic X400s! They were going to keep it for themselves, so I'm not cancelling that on the left.

So after dinner we went buying stuff in Giant, and then we came back. I watched soccer with my dad... Norwich City 2 Everton 3. Now I'm wondering what the results of the Chelsea-Blackburn match is going to be.

Ah... I guess that's it.

Guess what? It wasn't Leandra after all.

It was Maia. Came totally unexpected. Well... That's it.

The day was fine... I suppose.

Thursday, October 21, 2004

It's Thursday... It's Idol night!

Round 4 today, it went okay, everyone did pretty okay. I can't say who was best, though, although I can still bet on Leandra getting the exit tomorrow. This is regardless of the performance, if you want to know, and from now on it's not going to matter.

My bet's on Leandra, just hope that I lose.

Well. Chemistry practical today. It was pretty easy. Oh, did I mention I made a mess? I accidentally poured something on the paper, and I wiped it off with the cloth which I used to wipe everything else, and guess what, I got a piece of artwork! Fortunately though, all the stains were on the questions, not on my answers, so I think it was okay.

After the practical we were supposed to be quarantined and cut off from the outside world, until 1.30, which was 2 hours after we were done. All of us were getting hungry, and luckily Mr Tan got the auntie downstairs to get the food up for us! Like I said, it was like an oasis in a desert.

Well, after that I came back, and fell asleep. Went out later for dinner, and came back for Idol. Now I have to sleep some more.

Ciao!

Wednesday, October 20, 2004

Ah... Yes... The first day of school with about only a dozen other people.

It was quite fun, especially with the absence of certain people. My classmates should know.

Anyway, I got tickets to Jay's concert next month! Whoo wee! It'll be the first concert I'm going to that is that big.

********

A question: What do you think could be the worst thing any student can do to another student that does not result in punishment?

If you have anything else except "Framing Up", please tell me. Even if your answer was "Framing Up", tell me frame up to what. Please tag your answers on the board, thanks.

Monday, October 18, 2004

I stayed up really late last night, and I got out of bed only at noon. Ah...

I ate lunch (breakfast at noon is no) and went to Civic Centre for a haircut. It's short now, people, don't get shocked because that's always been my usual!

Anyway after that in the afternoon I went out with everyone to go to Chinatown! We walked around, looking for things to buy... In the end my parents got these gourds and got my beads tied up (it broke last week the first day). Then dinner! Had fried (not fired, stupid keyboard) oysters, chinese mutton soup (different okay...), popiah (@#$%& hawker put chilli when my dad said don't want) and chee cheong fan (stuffed with chicken).

Then we came back. Ta-dah!

Sunday, October 17, 2004

Wow. Five whole days without an entry. That must be some kind of a record for me.

My hair's getting long. How do I know? I keep feelinf something on my ear and think, "what's that?" and try sweep it, and then realise it's my hair. I'm not used to hair this length. I'm getting it cut tomorrow or Monday.

He's finally out!
Guess who's out this week in Singapore Idol? I'd never guessed it. Jerry Ong, the public enemy, has been kicked. I thought he had this really strong backing of supporters. When it was announced that either Leandra or Jerry would be eliminated. I was very convinced that my guess earlier this week of "either Daphne or Leandra" was going to come true, until Gurmit said "Leandra is safe".

But...
Somehow, I had a strange feeling to it. My opinion of him has changed over the week, reading the blog entries of the other finalists. I just realised how stupid ot was putting all the blame on him from everyone. Can't believe the media could be so naive. It's not his fault, it's the people who voted him! Tell the people who voted for him, "You voted wrong! You caused the downfall of 3 good talents!"

Still he wasn't weakest
Even though Jerry was definitely still one of the weaker ones, it hasn't been the weakest one eliminated. If the weakest one was eliminated each week, Jerry would have been out first week. Christopher deserved the exit this week more than Jerry did.

Aftermath
Then as usual they had the tribute video. They never showed it in the first or second episodes, but Jerry had quite a long mane back then during the auditions! Had quite a surprise.

Heard this really nice song on MTV that day. It's Craig David's "Rise and Fall" featuring Sting. The lyrics are really meaningful, so check it out. Look for me if you want the song.

Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over
And it seems as though the writings on the wall
Superstar you finally made it
But once your picture becomes tainted
It's what they call
The rise and fall

I'll see you later.

Tuesday, October 12, 2004

The day went good.

In the morning the usual happened, with me cracking about the irony about someone saying he doesn't want to waste time but keeps speaking and speaking.

Today, a record-breaking 4 people didn't come to school today! From what I heard and know, there are like at least a dozen other people who didn't turn up for school today. Strange.

After school I hung around in the school for a while. Almost the entire canteen was closed! The only ones left were the drinks stalls at both ends. So I got a burger and a tea at the end nearer to the basketball court and went home.

Today's my parents' anniversary! I think it's 19 or 20 years. I'm not sure. Anyway, we went to IMM! Had a great dinner and went shopping after that.

Got VCDs, a... What do you call it... Beads. I don't know how to describe it. They're magnetic. Told that it's supposed to help me somehow... Bloodflow or something.

I bought it because it looked really nice.

Anyway, so now I'm back. Whoo wee. Ciao!

Monday, October 11, 2004

Last night I went to sleep at around 12. Midnight. I had this really strange dream. And long one. When I woke up from it I half-expected the time to be 4. Maybe 5.

It was 2.15. Wow. Incredible. Never had such a long dream in such a short time. *Yawn* Talk about lack of sleep.

Anyway, the day went pretty okay. I came back and downloaded many songs, mostly with request from Esther (I put this off from a long time ago, sorry). Now I'm 2 songs short of the whole list. I'm not even sure the 17 tracks can fit in a CD. She might need to cut a track or two.

So the rest went fine. I'll see if I can get another value for time dream again. Ciao.

Sunday, October 10, 2004

My com's been down since I forgot when. It seems so long ago. (My poor baby! *sob*) Now I got it fixed and upgraded and better than ever. While it was down I spent my time on my book, TV and occassionally (just once), some A Maths.

Well, many things happened during this time. Hmm. MDEHAERAOAMSWVMNSTOIDGEENDMELEGYZXFM

David Yeo is out.

I cannot say I'm not disappointed. It was very obvious that he was not the worst performer the night before. So who's next, Leandra? We're gonna suck the good parts out now, what do get in the finals? What I predicted. Olinda and Jerry. So far I can say Olinda been's deserving of getting through all these weeks, while Jerry hasn't. His performance on thursday was worst than ever. Christopher's performance was crap too.

Well. This is life, isn't it? It's like this mini black hole.

Now I'm gonna test out some games on this new baby. Ciao!

Sunday, October 03, 2004

It was a very fine day.

We went out to Takashimaya for lunch. Genghis Khan! The single most powerful Asian conqueror of all time. His food is good.

Okay, seriously. You should know there's this restaurant called Genghis Khan. It's quite expensive, and it has really good food. Something happened to me, and I got a little nauseous after the meal. Must be the desserts they brought. Too much sugar makes me sick.

After that we went to Kinokuniya downstairs, and I bought a book called "The Assasini" by Thomas Gifford. It says there on the cover that it was "a conspiracy thriller as shocking as The Da Vinci Code". Maybe it would. I'm only starting on the first chapter, so it'll be quite some time before I finish it. Here's the synopsis on the back cover:

THE ASSASINI - an age-old brotherhood of killers once hired by princes of the Church to pretect it in dangerous times. but whose orders do they obey now?

In the Vatican, the Pope is dying and priestly vultures are gathering around, whispering the names of possible successors. In a forgotten monastery on Ireland's gale-swept coast, a dangerous document is hidden, waiting to be claimed. And in a family chapel in Princeton, New Jersey, a nun is murdered at her prayers.

Sister Valentine was an outspoken activist, a thorn in the Church's side and when her brother, lawyer Ben Driskill, realises that the Church will never investigate her death, he sets out to find the murderer himself, and uncovers a dangerous, explosive secret...

There you go. Arsenal won Charlton today 4-0 at Highbury. Best goal was that back heel from Henry. Oh man, you should see it.

Have a great one!

Friday, October 01, 2004

Uh... Something's wrong with the typer thing. The text style bar's gone.

Strange.

Anyway, Happy Children's Day! Not that we're qualified to celebrate it anymore.

It's been a day of many disappointments. I can only say I brought this upon myself. No reason to complain.

On the other hand, though, not all the disappointments were personal. Let's talk about the Singapore Idol results this week. It was puzzling, if not infuriating for something like this to happen again.

Let's do a recap on the show, shall we? First we had a last minute recap of the performances last night. Then we had a special segment with the 11 of them doing their version of "To Be With You". Then Gurmit Singh said the 11 of them were to be divided into 3 groups. In one group, 2 of them would be the ones out of the competition.

So the three groups were:
- Jeassea, Daphne, Jerry and Beverly
- Olinda, Sylvester and Maia
- David, Christopher, Taufik and Leandra

So it was expected that group 1 was the one with the rats. Ok. Then Gurmit Singh first announced the first one that would stay. Daphne. Okay. Fine. Then he announces the first one to be out. Beverly. That was half-expected anyway, so ok. They played this tribute video, and went to the commercials.

When we came back, he was going to announce the one to stay. Ok. So I was very sure he was going to say Jeassea. So as I got up, I stayed for it anyway. i wanted see the look on jerry's face.

But no, he said Jerry. Jerry. JERRY. JERRY. JERRY. That FSOB! And Gurmit Singh kept saying "You voted! You decided! It's YOUR choice!" I think he was hinting, or trying to say "Jeassea got out because it's YOUR FAULT. Jerry got in because all you losers saved money to NOT vote for Jeassea. Now Jerry's got in. IT'S YOUR FAULT."

I would say that. I was that sure. The rest of the weeks are not going be nice.
