Fun day? Guess not...

Morning started with just a round of mass run. It was okay. Got changed later, then went up to class, read Digital Fortress until I went down for food.

Teachers' Day concert was a bore at the middle. At first we had the same thing last year, where we had baby/child photos of the teachers and we were supposed to guess who it was. The most shocking ones were Mr. Wong's and Mdm Chen's, apparently. After that were three dances, all boring, and really bad singing from these two guys. They really should go and join Singapore Idol, you see because this way, the judges can tell them how I feel: YOU SUCK.

The highlight was the finale, "Woodgrove Idol". It was a parody thing, but it wasn't so good. Personally, I think parodies should exaggerate the talking points about that thing. Things like comments weren't mean enough, contestants (teachers in disguise) didn't seem desperate enough. They were good, though. Mrs. Haikal did a very good egomaniac... If I'm right about her role. Mr. Tan was okay with the "careless whisper" part, no doubt an imitation. The most hilarious one was Mr. Justin's Middle Eastern accent, who kept saying "I come from Bangladesh". The last one was a duet, Ms. Thia and Mr. Ismail. No doubt that stuck out like a sore thumb, at least to me. It's "Idol", folks, not "Idols". The singing was okay. The judges, like I said, didn't stand out too much. Their comments pretty much died down on the sarcasm/anmosity factor after the first one.

After the concert I went home with Krishanth. We played NFSU, and he continued when I went down for lunch, and then he left at around 3.30. I played for a while, fell asleep, woke up and continued until an hour before dinner.

Headache! Not good. Got to run.

Ciao.

Who's got the Monday Blues...

When I ran this morning I ended up painful all over. Not good. *sigh*

A Maths was okay, Social Studies was okay, Chem was just a bit okay.

Recess was goooood.

E Maths was okay, we did the Paper 2 for the first half of it. Physics was okay too, we went through the Paper 2 we got last week to do. Then Mr. Wong came in with the testimonials and told us what to do with those.

Before last period was over Mrs. Lim came in for the rest of the Paper 2, and we finished it until around 3. Went down, got some food, and went back with Krishanth and Jo after much delay.

We came here, did a bit of Bio (emphasis on the "a bit"), and played NFSU until Krishanth went off and I had to go off to Causeway Point to meet my mum for dinner. Had Long John's, not bad, just salty. After that I went up for the last book that would complete my collection of Dan Brown novels: Digital Fortress. I also helped my mum get a new EZ-Link card holder.

After my sis and my mum got the presents they needed for different purposes we came back by bus. I read Digital Fortress while my sis used the com. When my dad came back we went down to burn offerings for "those-which-we-do-not-speak-of". When I came back I checked my mail, forum and then wrote this.

Ciao!

P.S. I've read the first parts of Digital Fortress; bears a very similar start to the Robert Langdon novels: Someone important/incredibly-smart get murdered. Then the main character get winded up doing the work for the higher power. And, oh, not to mention a hot partner who helps along the way. Dan's template to a good story? One might wonder.

Speed down the fast lane...

I woke up at around 5 A.M. with a bad stomachache. Not good. Went back to sleep and got up again at around 10. We went out and had brunch. Hmm...

We came back after my parents got some stuff, and my sis hogged the com until 1.30. I checked some stuff, and then I played NFSU the whole afternoon. Whoo-hoo! My top speed at Gear 6... I still don't know. I want to find out, though.

I went down to get dinner, and came back to watch TV while eating. After that I did my Physics homework, until a while ago.

*Yawn*

Not good. Stomachache again. Ciao.

What a jam...

Today... Saturday... Guess what's on in the morning... Yup, that's right, English mock exam! Like how stupid it sounds... Mock can mean fake. Mock can also mean "haha, stupid".

Aspire (like a third of it) went through the paper right after that, and then I wnt back with Jo and Krishanth. They played their accounts in NFSU, and left when I had to leave for my grandma's place. I had lunch there, and then after a while me and my sis went to Yangheng's place for his early birthday party (the actual date is the 31st) after dropping by The Woodgrove for a box of Roches.

When we got there many others were there too. There was (in class order), Jo, Puay Yong, Dajin, Yelian, Jieying, Andrew, Peiying, Ching Haw, Benji, Phileo, Chye Yan, Shiyin, Alex, Teck Wei... I think there were more. Then there's Chiak's friends, the Sec 1s, Chelsea and Ginny.

There were great food, great people, a basketball ring low enough for almost anyone to dunk... What else can I say? We went home at around 10 before 10, got home by 10. Sleeping early. Ciao.

Fatigue ruled me...

It's Friday, so we had reading. I re-read the first few chapters of The Da Vinci Code for that time.

A Maths first period. I got 14/20 for the test! *cheers* Even though I wrote the integration sign wrongly, I got it! Yup. After A Maths was what I believed to be one of the most boring P.E. lessons for me. Badminton, 15 minutes with a deformed racket; not to mention almost no one was interested in playing with me at all. After walking around the hall we came back for a period of English. Nothing in particular.

After recess was a period of Social Studies... And then a period of Chinese in the library, after which was a period where Mr. Wong discussed post-exam plans. We're not supposed to tell anyone yet. Shh! Big secret!

After school we were going to play basketball in school, but got chased off because the Sec 1s were having an oral exam upstairs in the hall. So after much consideration we borrowed a ball from the AVA guys and played at Fragrant Wood.

Sky VS A bunch of mean-looking guys - Winner: SKY
Sky VS Another team of Woodgrovers - Winner: SKY
Sky VS A team of girls - Winner: SKY

We proceeded to a 1-on-1 Sudden Death Knock Out, where you win when you score. The new comer will start the ball.

Longest Winning Streak: Joseph - 7 consecutive wins.
Longest Match: Joseph VS 2 CHR girls - Approximately 15 minutes.
Fastest Win: Me - 2 seconds.

Then all of us decided we were too tired... Or at least the sky helped us decide. From the looks of it, it was going to rain soon, so we quickly parted ways and went home.

Upon arrival I quickly took a long, cold shower, before relaxing a little before I continue with NFSU. I forgot how many points I got in that 2 hours, but I can remember I am very close to completing that 3 million.

The night went as usual, buying dinner... My sister used the computer until a while ago. In that space of time I was watching Taekwondo in the Olympics. Not bad. This Ivory Coast girl screamed like... Does anyone know what a banshee is?

Anyway, I think I forgot to give you guys the one-liners I promised yesterday. So today I'm giving 3, one for today, one for yesterday, and another as a bonus. Hope you enjoy it. I also hope you understand that they are not necessarily funny.

Magic number 7...

Ah... Couldn't run in the morning again. Not by will, though.

English... Went to the library! Nice, cool, air-con for us... Nice. On our way back we met Aspire. Kheng Ling rushed out and asked me some questions about the puzzle thing. All of them were really obvious, except a couple:

- T - O - - - C - H and UP 8
- - - - - - U - - -
That's the word "touch" with the U below the rest, and the other is an "Up" with an "8". Anyone who can solve them with explanation, please contact me A.S.A.P.

After English was a period of Bio. It was okay, again, they went through a paper which we don't have so we continued trying to figure out those two.

Then Chinese. It was quite okay, the usuals.

After recess 2 periods of Geography. Talked about... I forgot. Dammit. Then Chemistry, we did a test. Not good. Then last period, Physics. I hit that target, so I won't have to pay for the stupid paper. Hah! Eat that, Clementi Ttown. 33/40, a slight improvement from before. Not bad.

After school I headed home with Krishanth, and he played NFSU. After that I played for a while before he left. Took my shower, got the order for dinner, and bought dinner home.

Then the highlight of the night... Singapore Idol! It's the first group of 10 of the top 30 today, and it was great! My personal favourite, David Yeo the ex-Beng, is in the top 3! Yup. Along him are the sassy... What's her name... And the lian-lesbian-tomboy Olinda. Too bad Florence Lian didn't get to cut her hair. I didn't like Olinda, bleh, her singing was there, but no feeling. Her song... I think you need to grin or smile or something, like there's something fun going on. Her face... Ergh. David De Cruz was the obvious loser... To quote Dick Lee: "Entertainment value: Ten Singing: Zero". Doug O was meaner than usual, telling no. 8 "Dancing, performance, yeah... Singing, *vomit*." Ken Lim wasn't so mean today, though. He kept a straight face most of the time, seemed moody, comments were very general, a lot about how "it's what the mass wants, not what you want". Florence was the fashion commentor, making comments about the outfits when they were bad.

All in all, it was good, nothing exceptional yet, we will see when we get to the top 10.

Highlights? What highlights...

Mass run. A bore. I walked stubbornly. I couldn't get my legs to work.

First period: A Maths. It was okay. Then CME. Mr. Wong talked about "ruling with fear"... About how easy it was, and how disgusting it was. Agreed. We really should grow up to be thinking adults... If they let us, the irony is. Anyway, then it was E Maths. Mrs. Lim is right, though... We are inhuman. I know that in myself, but I just can't seem to get over the coldness. It's the world, I guess, that's the way it is.

After recess was English. We continued the Lee Hsien Loong article, and a little about current affairs. Bio... Not very good. Still okay. Hey, not bad. I got 30/40 in the end for that MCQ. Then Chinese... Ms Chong didn't come, so it was sort of a free period.

After school we ate... Jiawen and Jo came to my place. Jiawen kept himself busy with the Discman while me and Jo played NFSU. Ah... NFSU... Couldn't play it for the past 2 days because of time constraints. This afternoon I chalked up another million or so... I need around 800,000 more. I can do that tomorrow, or better, by tonight!

Seems like my posts are getting shorter and briefer and really boring. I'll add a quote, a one-liner, or a full joke at the bottom sometimes, and hope the person reading this can eventually smile.

Today's joke: Of course a leopard can change its spots; when he moves from a spot to another.

Hot, hot, hot...

The day started with... How many times have I said this?

Bio for first period. It was okay, I guess. MCQ from the Prelims last year. Didn't study at all - 26/40. Then a period of Chinese. Went through sentence construction, and then English. Today's English was very different, mainly because Miss Yeong kept going about her results and how miraculous it was for her to even graduate University and how close she was to getting a pass with merit instead of just a pass, which she got. Then we read through an article on Lee Hsien Loong.

After recess, E Maths. Went through the Paper we did... Got 62/73 for it. The 7 marks were out of syllabus. Then Physics. We did another MCQ, I got a unique target of 30. Then we went through the rest of the paper we didn't finish yesterday. Then in Chemistry we went through the paper that I got detention for. Shut up.

After school I played some basketball, and then my parents picked me up for Vista Point for lunch. Then we went home. I took a long afternoon nap, and got up when I had to buy dinner. So I bought it, ate it, and came here for a chat with the keyboard.

Au revoir.

The bird that couldn't fly...

The day started as usual... Nothing worth mentioning.

First period was A Maths, had a test. Not bad, I think. I finished the questions. Then it was Geography... Then Chemistry. We did another practical. It was okay, everyone went early for recess.

After recess was E Maths, where we did the 2004 May/June Paper 1 for the first half. Then in Physics we did went through the Section B we were given last week, after which we went to the lab for a Mechanics/Moments Practical. After lunch we continued the Maths Paper 1 for another hour.

After the paper we came down, and I saw the guys playing basketball so I joined in. The 'C' boys did their training after that, we watched for a while.

Me and Jo left, and we sat in front of the parade square. Netball was having their training. After watching a while something caught our attention. A bird, not sure what species it is, landed on the square and skidded, apparently unable to fly properly. It flew, but only briefly, and landed at the Netball net area. When the guys went over 2 other birds flew off, and they thought it was one of them. I was suspicious, because it wasn't so possible and checked under a trolley used for moving the netballs and there it was; on its talons and unable to fly. The cleaner auntie suggested that it was young and wasn't experienced. I thought it was the most logical, considering someone said it didn't have a license for it.

I picked it up, and showed it off. It kept trying to bite my finger using the beak, and even when it did, it wasn't the least painful at all. After a while of maneuvering I had it perch on my finger while I looked for food for it. I went over to the D&T area, and found Connie having a char siew pau and I got a bit of it an fed it to the bird. Then it... Relieved itself on my hand.

I went to the toilet and left it near the basin while I washed my hand, and brought it back to the parade square. Jo suggested we tried letting it fly. So we thried throwing him up, and it just grabbed me harder. When it did fly away, it didn't fly up, and supposedly crashed onto the wall and landed in the bush. We dug it out, and I perched it on my hand again. Talks were about bringing it home... I didn't think so. I have a dog. Not good. Dogs, being curious about anything new, would just scare it to death, or my dog, being him, would be bullied and pecked by the bird until he was scared of it.

I tried throwing it, it just kept going higher on my arm, until it was perched on my shoulder. Great. Now I look like Captain Chua. Can I just hear an "aye, aye"? I took it to Vista Point, where it... Again relieved itself on my shoulder and jumped off. It hid under this bin and I decided to go for a change. After changing out of the stained shirt I could have just walked home, but I decided to go back and check on it and take the bus instead. It was still there, and I took it. It jumped off into the bushes again, and this time I didn't to go beyond visual scanning. Satisfied that he was hidden well, I left.

I only hope it learnt flying or healed whatever it hurt.

Let angels guide you on your lofy quest...

Day started... Well. Woke up, got up when I felt like it. By the next hour we were downstairs having brunch. We saw her and her friends. We packed some food for later and went up. My father went to work.

When we came back I continued Angels & Demons. I was four fifths finished when I fell asleep. When I woke up at around 2.30 I finished the book and continued my quest to the 3 million Style points. I spent 3 hours playing Drift (boring...), and by dinner time I made a million, offset by about 100,000. Nice. 1.1 million left.

I cooked dinner tonight, for me, my sis and my mom. Instant noodles. Not a task that requires high level culinary skills, but nevertheless demanded a basic knowledge of stove operation and understanding of "too-long-gives-you-burnt-food".

We watched TV... I did Physics later, listening to my CD while my sister was using the com.

Angels & Demons has a puzzle that solved everything at the same time, it wasn't that tough, except for the last one. The Da Vinci Code had a series of codes... Even though some did overlap in some places. But overall I think DVC's codes were so much better, taking as much, if not more effort to solve and then the answer so painfully obvious too.

Good read. Read both, actually. Ciao.

Once again...

The average Saturday. Went to school early in the morning for a mock exam. Paper 1 today. I think I can do quite well for this one.

After that I went downstairs and found lots of people at the court. Nice. I joined in and played for a while. Nice. I came home alone, and slacked a while before having lunch. Then I had my shower and had a nice afternoon nap. I woke up to find Jiawen at the doorstep. He came here to scan something, and played this... Cube he brought. Jo came and like recently, my place became very unfun. He fell asleep, and then woke up when Jiawen left at around 6.30.

Naturally, I played NFSU again, managing to earn a total of about 800,000 for that few hours. Just 2.2 million to go.

*sigh*

1) Homework to do.
2) Distance to cover.
3) Book to finish.
4) Headache to get over.

Lotsa stuff to do. Peace out.

Friday, August 20, 2004

Bad day...

The morning went on pretty well... Reading in the morning, A Maths for first 2 periods. Then P.E. The class was messy, and we didn't really get to play a lot. Then a period of English, not very interesting. We're having another Paper 1 tomorrow for the mock exam.

After recess we had Geography for a period, then Chinese. We had to do an exercise, and then school was over.

It wasn't the best of times. Okay, so I finally got Angels & Demons. I came home and played NSFU for a while and the worst thing happened; I have no idea why, everything in my account was lost. All my stuff, everything I unlocked, 3 million Style Points... Everything. It's only 3 days, but very intensive 3 days... I just want to cry.

I feel very lost today, so forget about it, I'm not writing further on. Peace out.

Thursday, August 19, 2004

Happy day!...

The day started off just fine. Without my father sending us, we squeezed in a bus full of you-know-whats, and went to school.

The day went on fine... I ran quite a lot during mass run. 3 rounds, I ran up to 2 I think. More than I ever did. First period is English. We went to library, really cool. As in literally. Then it was a really lame period of Bio. Then 2 periods of Chinese. Which reminds me of the homework... Oh... Man...

After recess was Social Studies, where Ms Chee briefed us on the Perth trip. Then came Chemistry, where we did a Practical exercise on titration. It went very well for me. Then Mr. Liew told me I had to go for detention. The mere mention of this... Gives me the shivers. Then last period of Physics. I got another 32/40 for another MCQ set, from... I forgot where it was from. It's supposed to be tougher, but apparently I could live up to my expectations, heh heh heh. Jo got highest for this one, 36/40. Nice job, Jo.

After school... Sigh... Detention. She happened to be there, in charge. Bad. I stood there like I was supposed to for an hour facing the stupid wall, singing Jay Chou's songs to distract myself. I found out all the Jay Chou songs that I know could keep me going for more than an hour. That's great, but that wasn't exactly the best time and place for me to find out.

After detention (brrr......) I went to the basketball court to meet the guys, Jw, Ks, Jo, Yh. They were playing already, and I joined them. We went on until 5... Ks left. She came with some friends to watch the other side of the court.

Then we continued when everyone left at around 6, 6 plus, until it was near 7. I got a ride from Yh and got home, took a nice shower and had my dinner. I watched Singapore Idol as I finished my meal, and it was great (dinner and SGI).

Then I came online to look for her... She just went off. So I wrote this.

The day of no highlights...

It was an usually uneventful day. Nothing impactful in particular.

This morning started out okay... Mass run as usual.

First period was A Maths, okay. Then CME... Nothing to do about it. We just talked about random stuff. Then before recess was a period of E Maths, nothing special except a paper to do.

After recess was English, didn't go very well. After that was Bio... Not so good either. Then the last period was Chinese... Like normal.

After school... Basketball... Came home... Had dinner... Played NFSU... Write blog...

Aaaargh bad, bad headache. Guess that's all, folks.

Tuesday, August 17, 2004

Great day...

This morning we had mass run again, it wasn't so bad. We went to the lab for Biology practical for the first 2 periods, and then Chinese lessons, where I re-confirmed that I was up for retaking Mother Tongue at November. Then two periods of English next. We got our Situational Writings back, and wow! I got highest for the class, again! 26/30. This means I get 50/60 for the whole of Paper 1 here, which means 83.3%! A1!

*whistling* *applause*

Anyway after recess, during E Maths, Mrs. Lim wasn't here today so Mdm. Cheng was here. 2 free periods, and we just talked it away. After that was Physics, where we went through the Naval Base MCQs we did the last time (the one I got 32/40 for) and then we did Bedok View's Structured Questions. After Physics was a last period of Chemistry, and there wasn't anything to highlight there.

It's only afternoon now, I know, a little too early to record the day, but I'm really scared I won't get to do that later. So I'm doing this now.

Typing this a third time...

You don't know what happened. Don't ask. Stupid Blogger.

Yesterday was Jo's birthay. Didn't exactly celebrate it. He stayed at home. Couldn't help it, he said. Yeah, I believed him... It's true.

This morning I helped my sister bring him his presents; a chain and a box of chocolates, which he finished by the noon. So we got that Elites target set by Mr. Junus after all, the sweet 32/40. Before that we did another one, and frankly speaking, a tougher one. After school we went to my place. The girls who had asked earlier to come came an half hour late than expected, watched Battle Royale here. While they/we were watching Jo played NFSU. I was a little puzzled about Esther's fear during the movie... It wasn't that scary at all, and especially when she's seen it before. When the girls left I joined in the racing fun.

It went on until dinner, where we had Angels' Hair(not actual hair, a thin type of pasta). We continued after dinner until Jo left, and I let my sister get the computer.

Then the trouble came.

She wanted to scan photos, and the stupid software wasn't warking so I had to reinstall it. After installation I accidentally rebootd my computer half-way into this. Then I re-typed it, and then tried publishing it. It didn't get through and I had to type this a third time.

I just need something to hit now... Any other suggestions other than the monitor?

Need For Speed...

This morning started like the Saturdays the past seven, eight weeks (except last week) before, with me waking up at 7 to get to school by 8 for the English mock exam.

The exam today was not totally easy nor difficult. Just a little unsettling, a paper of this difficulty. After the mock exam we had a Physics MCQ test, 40 questions from all 25 chapters. The class target was 24. The Elites' target was 32. That included me, Joseph, Meiting, Cheong Long, Christy, Puay Boon and most recently, Ann, because she scored surprising high for the last one for chapters 23 to 25, topping the class.

After the test, I headed home with Jo and Krishanth. Krishanth brought his Need For Speed Underground CD and wanted to test it here because he couldn't play it at home in his own computer. So as we found out, it worked and we spent an hour playing. After that Krishanth had to go, so the two of us played for the whole afternoon.

After that we had dinner, and after Jo left I continued until just now(yes, at 1.30 A.M.). After much consideration on what to do, I remember this and wrote this. There.

Friday the Thirteenth...

I'm not superstitious. The day did not hold much of a significance. In fact the day went pretty okay.

My father fetched us to school this morning. No risk of being late, and no getting angry at the Christ Chruch b******s who clog the bus up. The morning went on as usual, a talk from Mr. Ivan Lee, some reading. Then we went back to class for first period, A Maths. After A Maths we had PE. It was one of the rare times I could run for so long. I couldn't believe it, but it happened anyway. I let it continue. The class was halved and my half played basketball. There were 19 of us and 4 teams, so for the last team they had a random member each game. I think my team was the best one this morning, because as far as I can remember we won the most times. After that was a period of English, which wasn't so bad. We saw photos of many teachers putting on the "specs-big-nosed-moustached" mask and there was one where Mr. Wong had it on his calf. Apparently Ms. Yeong drew eyes for him and it looked... Strange. Like an unusually thin and hairy face.

After recess we had a Social Studies test, and I believed I did quite okay for this one(although I won't guarantee a pass), simply because I could write more. So then. Later Ms. Ang came and confirmed if I was retaking Mother Tongue. I told I was, and she said she would accept it, but told me to think it over again over the weekends.

After school I met up with the Seah Brothers, the Seafood Platter and Jiawen. We were going to my place. We played cards for a while, watched TV and fought a bit. Then the Platter were showing their leg-splitting skills while I showed off my new move, the Worm. It involves, well, mainly wriggling on the floor. By the time they left it was almost 6 P.M. Then I finished off Deception Point. Nice book.

About an half hour after they left, my sister came back and after a while more, I went down and bought dinner. After dinner I start writing this. And then I slack a little before finishing it.

There's another mock exam tomorrow. The fatigue's really hitting into me. Now, my dog... He needs me.

Thursday, August 12, 2004

Let's do this quick...

Don't have a lot of time. Going to gist everything.

The day went wrong in ways, right in others. Bad news and good news.

We almost got late again. Didn't. Mass Run sucked as usual. Got a high 24/30 for the Paper 1 mock exam. B3 for Chinese 'O' Levels. My parents want me to re-take it. Left my Physics Practical Book and some Chemistry worksheets in the Physics lab last Saturday. Got publicly shamed for it. Did a Chemistry Quantitive Analysis Practical Test. The results were uncertain. They were reconfirmed by the others. Scored 29/40 for the class Physics test. It was unexpectedly low. It was within quota.

Got home. Planned something and then abandoned it. Got a call from my parents. Went down to get dinner. Ate dinner. Continued Deception Point. Did some of the Chemistry worksheets. Wrote blog. Sleep.

'O' Levels English Oral Examination...

The day started on a low note. I was groggy from sleeping at 1 A.M. the previous night, and I fell asleep on the toilet bowl. Really. I was that sleepy. I woke up about ten or fifteen minutes later with really numb legs, and took my shower.

By the time I got out, had breakfast, packed all the stuff I need to bring and got ready for school, the time looked threatening. We rushed as fast as we could, and when the bus came, it was jam-packed with Christ Church b******s. We could only wait for the next bus, which caused us to be late by 5 minutes. Well we got through anyway. The day's lessons went on as usual... And then the thing came after school.

Singapore-Cambridge Ordinary Level English Oral Examination 2004. Aah, the dreaded 'O' Levels. Sometimes it can get to you.

The day's topic: Humour.

Clowns, jokes, sense of humour, funny things, keep your job not boring... The works. I guess I did pretty okay, except for picture interptretation, which I sucked.

Singapore Idol today was slightly funny. Only the banana man, and no other highlights. However, though, this episode is really about the human spirit in the midst of the trash and junk. We've got the brave deaf woman, the man with a speech disorder who sang much, much better than a lot of the other people who speak normally. I agree with Ken Lim on this one: You sound even better than some of the normal ones. We know. And of course the guy who just lost his father. He was really emotional, and if he could keep this up he can go very far.

The only thing I need to do now... Is to find my keys.

Tuesday, August 10, 2004

So it wasn't exactly exciting...

I started the day... Awake. At about 9. I got breakfast, which consisted of only 2 ingredients; bread and ham. Then with a stomach shut up I went into the shower, got one and prepared myself. My sister got ready and my dad sent us to Woodlands MRT Station.

At the station I saw Kok Siang and Yufan, apparently waiting for someone. And apparently it was Evelyn. Heard they were going to Takashimaya. Hmm, okay. After that Chelsea and Ginny(classmates of my sister's) arrived, and we waited a while. I got a little bored and walked towards the escalator, where I should expect two persons to turn up, and they did. Yang Heng and his brother Yang Chiak.

We were going for a movie at Plaza Singapura and honestly, I wasn't planning on the movie. I only wanted to move around and see what I could do there. When we finally got there(after endless joking courtesy of the Seah brothers), I thought, 'I, Robot' and hmm, wouldn't harm me to see a funny movie anyway.

But noooo... They voted and decided on The Village. I frowned and sighed and complained, but went with it anyway. We bought some food(the cheese dogs are goooood) and headed to the wrong entrance. Oh, Yang Heng took us there. We took a detour and went for the right one.

The Seah brothers were noisy during the movie. Totally spoiled it for some people I guess. The movie seemed scary because of the sound, it wasn't the story. It had a good story to tell, but the 4 of them came out confused. The Chua siblings had the unfortunate task of explaining everything to the rest. So after that we went for a walk downstairs, into Yamaha. We started playing with the display piano, and I found out the Seah brothers make a very good duo. We went back up into the arcade, played a while and went down. After some mindless walking we decided it was best we leave the place. The Dhoby Ghaut station looked very weird, and can be confusing at first. In the words of Yang Heng, "This place looks like a secret base."

We headed towards Orchard, and we had a meal there. Looking for seats was my job, I guess, all the rest did was follow me. After lunch we walked around(again), Yang Heng got a Michael Jordan VCD, while Yang Chiak pleaded for cookies but settled for a cone at McDonald's. I got fries and guess what I won; a Fries Post-It! Yeh! During so we decided(yet again) this wasn't where we should be and left the place.

So we went to the MRT and our destination; Woodlands. We were headed to Causeway Point, our homeground. Here we went up to Timezone, and played for about an hour to two, with me winning that Trivia jackpot and my sister stuck at the Para Para machines again. After that we went to Popular, and my sister bought another Chicken Soup for the Soul and I got another Dan Brown novel; Deception Point.

After that we went home. We had spaghetti for dinner, and I start with my book. Then I play Gunbound and I write this. Good night, folks, there's school tomorrow.

Happy National Day...

It's Singapore's 39th birthday! Yeah! Celebrate because we have another day of rest. Whoo hoo!

This year's National Day Parade was very impressive. I loved the rock version of Buneru Valiba(spelling uncertainty here) and Home. After the parade came the true highlight of the night...

Singapore Idol.

Shouldn't it be Singaporean Idol? What, a plot to show off our very Unique Singlish har?Anyway, this was really... How should I say... Hilarious?

Rocky was a waste, and that persistence... It shows determination but it can be irritating. His voice was obviously not for the line. He could try opera like what Dick said, or he can wait for China Idol. The judges there might be more appreciative.

The "Lemon Tree" guy, well, was a disgrace. When he went "I turn and turn and turn and turn", he did, and for that moment I thought he was just going to drop on the ground, dizzy. Really baaaad. If he wants to be Singapore's William Hung, then let him! Get out of my ears!

The stripper... He was very odd. Let's just forget about him.

The "Careless Whisper" guy... Yes, that was a whisper... However good you are, you suck if I can't hear you.

There was this girl with the big earrings... They went "clang clang clang" throughout her performance and I have to agree with Dick that it's really noisy. And it really did sound like the cows going to get milked.

Anyway that's all I can remember, and Happy National Day again everyone! Checking out.

Open my eyes...

Yesterday we went out as a family to Suntec for this Japanese lunch buffet. It was good, although the unagi and miso soup were really disappointing. After that, with my suggestion, we went to Times for a look. I peered at the Bestsellers display shelf, and I spotted what I wanted almost immediately; The Da Vinci Code.

Yes.

I grabbed a copy behind the outermost one, and my sister chose a Chicken Soup For The Soul. We paid and went to Carrefour. We bought some stuff there, a DVD player, some DVDs, my sister got some clothes. Following that we went for a drink and my dad drove us home while I read the book.

I continued reading it among the fixing and testing of the DVD player, and finished a bit more than half the book by the time I went to bed.

This morning I woke up to 6.30 to meet Yang Heng and his brother for basketball at 7.30. We played for about an hour, had breakfast, then more people came and we played a little and after that we just watched. I came back at aound 10, and I continued the book. I literally spent the day on the book, and by the time I started watching soccer I finished it. The feeling is... I feel like Sophie, who in an instant was exposed to so much information. Arsenal won Manchester United 3-1 to take the Community Shield, by the way, so yeah.

And to quote the librarian Pamela Gettum, "Everybody loves a conspiracy."

As I.

借口(Excuse)...

National Day celebrations in school today! It was very nice, with the captain's ball game in the morning.

First match: It was the selected lower sec team(including Jordan of 1E1, who is very tall for his age) against the female teachers(consisting of Ms Priscillia Yeong, Mrs Melissa Lim, Ms Judith Lim, Ms Jacqueline Chan, Ms Dee Chia, etc.) to start off the games. Mrs. Song started the game and the first half of 7 minutes went underway. The teachers got an early lead, and a while later the students capitalised on an error and equalised. Ms Dee was substituted for Mdm Faridah during half-time. The match went into second half for the teachers and a very hardworking catacher of Ms Judith to score the winning goal.
Results: Female Teachers 2 Lower Sec 1

Second match: There were two selected upper sec teams, and they were to face off with the winning team to face the male teacher team. This match wasn't so interesting, although I was backing a team. My team, Blue(the names were only announced after the match), consisting of Joseph, Dajin, Henry, Ron, Jeremy, Cherie, Peiying and Shuzhen went against Red, a team of people I don't know. Blue dominated with Henry, Ron and Jeremy working hard with the intercepts. Peiying was the catcher, and Joseph's plan to dunk failed and the goal was disallowed. Joseph took over as catcher and it changed everything. Dajin immediately scored from the sideline to take the lead, and then the team scored another time by half-time. In the second half, honestly only the boys were playing, and Blue managed to score twice again.
Results: Blue 4 Red 0

Third match: The most exciting match of the winner between the upper sec teams, Blue against the selected male teacher team, consisting of Mr. Ivan Lee, Mr. Dylan Yap, Mr. Patrick Chua, Mr. Oliver Junus, Mr. Benjamin Lee, and other new teachers. The match started on a high note, with the students scoring first and keeping the lead when they scored again. Mr. Junus managed to score with Mr. Ivan Lee as catcher to pull the score closer. At half-time Mr. Junus was substituted with Mr. Lee Wee Chee, and a new teacher for Mr. Peter Yu. The match started quick with the teachers scoring to take it to equalise, and then the students responded quick to take the lead again. It was later revealed by Ms Thia that Mr. Yu was from the National Rugby Union, after he scored a spectacular goal from long range to equalise again. This put the crowd's emotions into overdrive, and it took almost an extended time to decide the winner. With much effort, Henry pulled off a beautiful pass to Ron, who scored the match winner at short range.
Results: Blue 4 Male Teachers 3

After the games all of us had recess, and then we went to the hall for assembly. The emcees were not exactly good, Joelle and this other girl who was also a councillor. She had a high-pitched and irritating voice, while Joelle's voice was low and to be honest, dull. It started with a video about our country, and then a quiz. How could Singapore's first McDonald's be in a tower? It should be in a house! That is so strange. After that there was a prize presentation for the mother tongue writing competitions. Then there was the prize presentation for the Karaoke competition, for both languages. After that we had fun and sang and we went down to the canteen to meet.

Jiawen, Phileo, Yang Heng, Yang Chiak, Jingwei, Joseph and Dawn came to my place. We watched School of Rock again(for me), after which Yang Heng and Yang Chiak went home, followed by Joseph and Dawn. Then Jiawen. Then finally Phileo and Jingwei left together. Then I spend nearly an hour typing this. Hah. Bite me.

我的地盘(My Territory)...

The day went okay, most of it. I read this horoscope thing from Xinyi's magazine and found out how true it was. From end-July to the first few days of August I'll have trouble with authority. How true! Ask my friends, they know.

W had the Adam Khoo booster session today. Ramesh the Rubbish came back! I kind of missed that guy. Especially his jokes. Love it. "Nuah". Everyone does it. It's when you just stone there and do nothing. Even too lazy to breathe, he said.

After the booster session I went to Causeway Point with Jingwei to get our Qi Li Xiang albums. They cost the same now, the difference for pre-ordering is getting that pictorial.

Listening to the album. Quite a lot of raps. Might want to learn them. Might not.

Yeah, I would eventually.

What the hell is wrong with me? It seems like for the past few days I just can't avoid any trouble. I don't want to even talk about it, not even in the interests of diarying. Forget it, this week's screwed.

Behold...

Qi Li Xiang (Orange Jasmine) is due in a day! I'm collecting it on the 4th, though. Getting excited? You bet I am. I have heard 2 songs from the album already, Qi Li Xiang and Wo De Di Pan(My Territory). Both are good, the composing part is good. Wo De Di Pan sounds a little Indian, and Qi Li Xiang is just soft and comfortable. I haven't found out the lyrics for Wo De Di Pan, but Qi Li Xiang's is very good, written by the King of Words Vincent Fong.

So this morning wasn't so good. Got sent out because I was writing stuff and not reading. What can I say? Well, I can sigh... The rest of the day went on as usual, and for the first time in many weeks, we had assembly! There was a Humanities Week Quiz going on, and seriously, people. Question for 30 points (a range of 10 to 50 is given): Name 1 aspect of Total Defence.

How easy can it get?

Not so, apparently, the 50 points ones were absurdly difficult, and the last one where we have to name the mystrerious country, and after about five minutes some guy finally went up (I bet he had a map) and named it: Kazahkstan.

Brrrrr...

Anyway I had a pretty great time at basketball after school ended, and I came back to take a nap. I woke up to a call to buy dinner so okay. I bought it, ate and just got stuck at the computer again. Mr. Wong sent me class photos, and now I'm writing this.

Weeeeee...

Something's wrong...

I don't know if anyone can read this... I encountered problems loading my blog.

The weekend wasn't something to scream about.

On Saturday, we had a mock exam, and I went to my paternal grandparents' place after that, and came home after dinner. We stopped at FairPrice at Woodgrove for some stuff. We got a Baby Ruth and a 3 Musketeers Bar. Both good. Then we came back and watched School of Rock which we got recently, and then I sat in front of the computer until I had nothing to do and was sleepy.

Today we went to my maternal grandparents' place after luch and stayed for dinner too. When we came back we just watched TV and I used the time to make a ringtone. Then I got frustrated again trying to load my blog.

So I got second. Proves anything? Probably. 4 hours of practice for me and 2 for my sister who got the harder part... Second. Not bad.
