So today we are officially back to school, and so far... Lur-ving it. There wasn't sharing from either of the VPs this morning... Kinda disappointed.

So we got our marks. Mine... Looks bad. So far.

Here's a rundown on my 8 subjects: English Language, Chinese Language, Elementary Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Combined elective Humanities (Social Studies/Geography). So far I've gotten grades for 4 subjects. For English I have a B3. I failed Chemistry at D7, Biology's worse at F9 and for Physics I finally got the A1.

I'm looking for E Math my best subject and the A Maths tomorrow. And I think I'll get to know the Combined Humanities grade tomorrow too. And Chinese.

Let's hope.

Anyway after school I just stayed there. Partly because I found no point going home then because it was going to be absolutely boring at home. And because it was raining.

Again.

Now I'm beginning to hate the rain. It's been coming at all the wrong times. When I'm busy with whatever it is it's so sunny and clear. And then just before I'm done it starts booming and by the time I'm done, it's pouring.

I HATE IT.

Anyway, it's Thursday so it's... Singapore Idol night! today's the first of the eliminating rounds that will continue for the next nine weeks or so. Candice withdrew from the competition, and according to Gurmit Singh, "because of personal commitments". So I guess it's okay with me. i never got to hear her sing.

So we end up with eleven finalists tonight. Their songs were picked by their parents, so all of them date back to at least the eighties. Let's summarise (and add to) what the judges said.

1) Leandra - She did pretty well... Yes. Sounded like the cute girl she was. - 7/10
2) Jerry - I didn't even bother to pay attention. I was somewhere else. - 3/10
3) Christopher - I have to agree he was a bit too drama. Good voice, though. - 6/10
4) Maia - I don't know how they gauge how explosive she is. But she had some substance there. - 7/10
5) Taufik - It was fine... - 6/10
6) Beverly - She overdid the song. I thought she was in a middle of an earthquake. - 6/10
7) David - My favourite. Sadly, tonight he didn't so as well as the first piano show. - 6/10
8) Daphne - She came across to me as a first time listener as being very "act cute". I think many people had this view? I think it's okay. - 6/10
9) Jeassea - She was great once again, but just lacked something there. - 7/10
10) Olinda - I'm more surprised than Dick with the change in her this week. Seems she toned the ego down a little. The singing was good. - 7/10
11) Sylvester - He looked a little too serious for him, strangely. The singing was still good. - 6/10

I'll stick to Jerry being out first.

So... Have a great one!

So the day was not for school. I actually woke up at 6. By myself. I sleep late the night before an exam, and then wake up early on a holiday. Cheap.

Anyway then I just stayed up. Somehow that eight hours of sleep I never got energised me to the point that sleep would be irrelevant even until now. I hadn't yawned the whole day yet.

After that I just played on the com, and then at around eleven, Bee Khim called to borrow some VCDs. I asked her how i could pass them to her. Then she reminded me of the Physics practical session today.

Oh.

So after that I took a shower and put on my uniform and I was on my way to school. So I got to school, did the practicals and then called Jiawen before packing lunch home. We were going for a movie.

He came over, only after I called Jo to join us. By the time we were done playing around, it was around 4.30 and we went to Yishun for New Police Story.

The movie was great! Yes, you should watch it too. I'm not going to spoil it, though. Watch it yourself.

So then we ate at a coffeeshop there and came back. We walked back, and I got up myself. The rest is boring.

Anyway, I'm beginning to be quite a rain summoner. This noon when I got to school it started raining as i got down the bus. When I came back to Woodlands it started raining when I get into the open. Quite the coincidence.

It's the last day of the exams, it's Mid-Autmn Festival today, and everyone's happy~!

NO I'M NOT.

I go for basketball and it rains before I even get there. I wait for the whole afternoon before I get to play, which isn't a lot. Then I get my arms elbowed, and now they hurt like hell.

Now I'm VERY bored. I could just jump about and scream. Hold on, that's what someone else said to me just now. It's not working, I can tell you. My sister's out. With her friend. Whoever it is. Forget it. I'm at home, alone, at the computer, with absolutely NO IDEA what to do. Any ideas?

"Jeez, I don't know, maybe knock your head against the wall?"

Yeah, I could do that. Except before I do I would get some music off IRC. Oh wait, I can't... I'm BANNED!

People say "Give me a break".

I say "GIVE ME FREAKING SOMETHING TO DO!!!!"

Noon. That's when the sun is hottest. Also when I decided I couldn't just stay in bed anymore.

I went down for lunch. Then I came back and just slept again. Somehow. I woke up again at 4, I think. 5.

So I played on the com for a while. Tomorrow's Chemistry, I'm so relaxed, if you can't bear it, kill me. So after that I went down to get dinner for everyone, and then finally I got to read today's New Paper. Edwin Yeo had a funny today... I'm typing it out.

Pssst...

Here's next year's news today

Having been the best predictor for the past three English Premier League weekends, I have decided to apply my vast psychic powers in other areas.

Looking into my crystal ball, I have predicted the news stories which will make headlines in 2005. Allow me to bring you next year's news today.

1) In an escalating price war between budget airlines, Tiger Airways anounced that for the promotional period of one month, they will pay travellers to take their flight to Bangkok.

"We're always looking for new ways to benefit our customers. Our research showed that after our competitors lowered their fares to Bangkok for one cent, the only way we could beat that was to pay our customers," said a spokesman.

The flights, however, will not come with the usual services such as in-flight movies, food, water, cabin crew and pilots.

2) After hearing from the Ministry of National Development, town councils decided to put up nails, sorry, they're more like little studs, up on basketball poles.

This is to prevent kids playing football on basketball courts.

Said a town council member: "We have put up signs saying no football for close to 20 years, and still people are playing football on basketball courts. Something had to be done."

3) A locally-published book tops the bestseller charts for 23 weeks. The Nila Utama Code, written by Mr. D Brown, shook the tiny garden state when he claimed that the Merlion was, in fact, a fish and that the name was a anagram for Reno Lim, who he claimed was the real founder of Ah Bengs in Singapore.

4) New television company MediaCorp TV Holdings Ltd announced a merger with Starhub Cable TV in what is described as a win-win-win situation.

Negotiators of both parties said that this had to done as Starhub Cable TV was bleeding because of its annual negotiations with ESPN, who, this year, on top of wanting a price increase for live telecasts of EPL matches, also wanted broadband connections for their computers which really downloaded stuff at 3000kbps.

When Starhub highlighted that their broadband connections ARE 3000kbps, ESPN said: "We don't mean a potential speed which we can only see if no one in entire Ang Mo Kio is logged on at any moment."

5) The US has arrested another key man in Saddam Hussein's regime - Tongkat Ali. Said CIA officials: "He's the brother of Chemical Ali and was responsible for the rise in male testostorone everywhere."

6) Four new hurricanes are tearing through out garden city, although those affected are mostly the idle in Singapore.

Hurricanes Ken, Douglas, Florence and Dick are particularly destructive and, according to one forum writer, rude.

********

There you go. Hope you enjoyed as it as much as I did.

Have a great one!

Saturday! Yes, one of the better days of the week. Woke up feeling just fine.

My breakfast was... What did I have? Hmm...

*Sits thinking for a minute*

Ah, yes! Paus. Chicken. Yes, yes. Memory's getting a little rusty. Had three of them, yes. Mmm. After I watched Yu-Gi-Oh! I played on the computer for a while. Then I got a bit bored and just sat outside. Then I ate a curry puff and some biscuits for lunch. Didn't bother to go down to buy.

So after my father came back and had a shower and a change of clothes we went to our grandma's place. There we had dinner, watched the last episode of "Witness to a Prosecution II" and then we came home at around 9. I watched the second half of the Middlesbrough-Chelsea match, Chelsea won 1-0. Then I watched the Manchester City-Arsenal game. Arsenal won 1-0. Manchester United on the other side won Tottenham Hotspurs 1-0 too. Liverpool won Norwich 3-0. The rest, I'm not interested.

So I have the Chemistry paper on Monday. Oh, wait, there's CME before that. Should I study for it? Geez, I don't think anybody is. So I'll start on my Chemistry tomorrow, like all other subjects. Start only the day before. Doesn't sound good, does it? Yeah, well, we'll see.

Have a great one!

Thursday, September 23, 2004

I woke up. It was still dark. That's strange, I thought, the lights are off. I got up, put on my specs, and looked at the clock outside in a dim light. 5.25. That's half an hour before when I usually wake up.

Now that's weird, I thought, I barely got enough sleep last night. How could.... Four and a half hours be enough sleep for a day ahead? I got some cold water in the kitchen, went back to my room, put down my specs and fell to sleep again.

When I got woken up again it was my sister who did it. I checked the time. 6.10. It's gonna be a long day...

I got off the car in front of the school, and walked towards my class. The usual early people were there. And as expected, doing last minute reading up on Geography, our only paper for today.

I put my bag down, and went back to the front and just tried to nose into the conversation. I couldn't remember anything anyway. Then I felt a rumbling in my stomach. I'm not going to elaborate, but let's just I had quite a time going from floor to floor looking for paper, and I was clearing my rectum on the fourth floor when the rest of the school were pledging as one united people.

Then, there it was: the Geography paper. I wanna say that it was fine. That's all.

Me and Jo went down to the canteen, and the squid/beef combo was there too. We talked a bit while we ate, and we left before they did. Had quite a time, scaring sotong, though. Always do.

So we came back to my place first. We played some games. Got boring. So wen out at around 1 to Causeway Point. There we went to Raiders, the LAN gaming shop just beside the cinema. We played for almost 3 hours, with me switching among game titles like Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour, Counter-Strike and The Hulk.

So after that I decided that hey, my feet were getting freezed up and we went back here again. I took a very short nap while Jo played Gunbound. He left when my sis went down to get us dinner.

So tonight there was a special Singapore Idols episode named "Unsung Heroes". Props to bringing back (song names here) Solitaire, Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Careless Whisper. Also good job for bringing back the true heroes of the competition, (dammit, I keep forgetting their names) the guy with the speech impediment and the deaf girl. The whole thing was pretty good, even when they brought Rocky the Tenor back (anyone remember him?). Having Pink Panther back was a little unnecessary though. Overall it was great. Sorry for not remembering their names. I really don't.

So I'll see you guys tomorrow after the Physics paper, my second best subject.

Have a great one!

The dreaded A Maths... It has taken its toll on everyone today. Some people went mad, no kidding. My Paper 1 was quite well, and my Paper 2 was *putt*. four hours of nothing but A Maths. I can't say it wasn't tiring.

After school I came back, and used the com for a while. Jiawen came later, and then I gave my dog a shower. No bath, I don't have a tub. It's really strange to say you're going to bathe when all you have is a showerhead.

Anyway, we didn't to do much stuff. Joseph had said he'd come, but didn't. So Jiawen left early. I spent the rest of the afternoon taking a nap.

So when I woke up I watched some TV, and then dinner. Then I started on my Geography, my only paper tomorrow. *Yay* It's like only one and a half hours, so we're gonna be free...

Apparently I have this whole philosophy thing about jokes and humour. I've telling everyone this whole ideology thing with joking, like when to and not to joke, who to and not to joke with, etc. Maybe I can study humour. If it's even possible, that is. That's just a remark, by the way. But I'm serious about the who and when to joke part. You know joking with an angry person is like gambling. It's really tough to know when to do it, but when you buy it right... You know you are gifted. I still haven't figured that out. So I figured to not joke and shut up when an angry person is around. And don't joke when I'm angry. I hate it. Like what's so funny about me being mad? So if that person has the same mentality, my advice is: shut up.

They say puns are the lowest form of jokes. But I don't get it. Why are there high class jokes and low class jokes? Aren't jokes one and all the same? They are made for the same desired result: a laugh. A chuckle or a knowingly smile will do. So what's the difference? Even if you want to classify jokes, do it by genre. Like blond, sex, religion, lawyer, doctor, one-liners, etc. Then we classify not by quality, but the danger of which it would be offensive to people.

Take religious jokes for example. Conservative people might be offended if, let's say, I make up this joke about a certain divine being that they believe in, which might put him/her/it/them in bad light. Then there's sex jokes. The elderly, for example, might be very offended. So be careful about your choice of jokes. Another bad case scenario? Joking about dead people at a funeral. I've never actually heard of a worst case scenario, unless you're talking about making fun of PMS in front of an entire feminist audience. That might raise eyebrows.

So have fun. Ciao!

Ah, yes... This morning's bus wasn't so bad. It wasn't that clogged up. We managed to get up. So we got to school. I had my exam.

It was not good.

I think I made some very stupid mistakes in the maths paper. And I couldn't remember some of the words tested in Chinese. Oh, well.

It started pouring after I had a bite with Yee Sin and Pearlyn. Neeh, we didn't talk much. It soon started to rain so heavily they decided to retreat to the confines of the school library until pearlyn's dad comes to fetch them. I decided to go relax myself.

I walked out of the school through the front gate. Like I said, it was still raining. A couple of girls ahead of dashed across the road to the bus stop when they were sure no cars were coming. I walked out into the rain.

Ah... Yes.

I walked across the road, didn't bother to run. By the time I reached cover I was half-drenched. It felt good, though. If only I didn't have a bag and I wasn't wearing my uniform.

I got home, took a shower. Trimmed my nails. They were getting a little long... I noticed it when I almost skinned my scalp when it got itchy during the exam. Looked like the rain stopped. Then I did some computer work, ate some noodles, and took a nap.

When I got up again I continued at the computer after taking out my contacts. When my father went out to fetch my mum I took another nap.

So I got woke up by a phone call. Well, it was nothing much.

After dinner I finally started on A Maths, which was the paper tomorrow. I was watching Star Sports, and all the action distracted me a little. By little I mean I only go through the formulas during the commercial breaks. After a while I looked at the time and a realisation hit me: I missed Titanic. Again. I wonder how long this epic was going to elude me. Maybe when I finally understand love I can, you know, finally cry like a little girl at a movie.

Then I saw this World Snooker Trick Shots Championship at around 9.30. All of them were great. It involved really fancy and cheeky shots on the snooker table, and while you're setting up you'd usually joke a little.

Here are some of the jokes I heard from the show, they were contracted (briefly) to save space. Here's the first one:

Q: What's a shih-tzu?
A: A zoo without animals.

Did anyone get that? Well, obviously I did. There's another couple here. They need to be spoken in a British accent to be in full effect, but let me try and put this in words anyway. I made some changes to make more sense. I'm not sure if you get it at first for the second one, but try anyway.

Jerry was lying in hospital, and he was masked, so he couldn't speak properly. So when the nurse came by, he asked the nurse something that sounded like, "Are my testicles black?" The nurse was, of course, shocked to hear this, and just in case she heard wrongly, she said, "I beg your pardon?" He said again, "Are my testicles black?" The nurse was going nuts. She haven't such a weird question her whole life. She checked again, and said, "I beg your pardon!" So Jerry, a little annoyed at her reactions, said the same thing again. So the nurse pulled the curtains, pulled down his pants and checked, and then she told him, "Sir, your testicles are fine. They're not black." A little amused, Jerry pulled off his mask, smiled and said, "What I said was, 'Are my test results back?'"

There was a friend of Linda's who was going to London, so she told him, "When you go to there, help me look for my son, Neily Dunn. He hasn't written in four months, and we haven't heard a word from him." So he agreed. "Sure, what's his address?" Linda told him, "London, WC no. 1" So he went to London, and went to a door with "WC" printed on it. He went in, saw number 1, knocked the door and asked, "Are you Neily Dunn?" The voice behind the door said, "Yeah, but I don't have paper." Then he said, "That's no excuse to not write to your mother!"

There's some more... Let me think. Ah! Yes. This one's not bad.

Frank and Cliff were playing pool. halfway, Frank went to the bathroom, and came out with his fly unzipped. So when he doing his far shot and had his leg on the table, Cliff saw it and said, "Frank, there's a snake on the table." Frank, who was obviouly oblivious to the situation, said, "Where?" And Cliff pointed towards his crotch. Hurriedly, Frank slammed down hard on it and yelled, "Ouch! You better help me here I think it bit me!"

Yeah, so there you go. Hope you got it. Anyway, during one of the commercial breaks I saw these Olympics ads that had the slogan "Celebrate Humanity". One of them had a voice over that said 3 lines, but I only caught like 2 of them.

It went something like, "You are my adversary, but you're not my enemy. I seek to defeat you, but if I do, I will not humiliate you. I will honour you. For without you, I am a lesser person."

I leave you with this half-misquoted quote from Jack in Titanic (I managed to catch 10 minutes of it): "Life is a gift. I don't intend to waste it. I make it count."

Monday, September 20, 2004

This morning I actually took note of the times I did everything.

I woke up at 6.05. 6.25 by the time I came out of the bathroom. Went out of the house at 6.53, saw this weirdo who kept hugging the pole. Got on the bus (only after we missed a first one, a bendy, that the freaking you-know-what clogged up) at 7. At 7.05 nobody remembered to press the bell for the back gate stop, so we just chilled and waited for the front one. 3 minutes later we reached the front gate, and made our way into the school.

From that point on I stopped recording. Oh, well.

We had the Social Studies and the Chinese Paper 1 (for some of us). Let's not talk about it.

After the exams I went down with Yee Sin and Pearlyn to meet Gabby at the canteen. Apparently she had already changed and came back to school only to go to the library later. I went with her to Causeway Point.

I got my New Paper, and after some roaming (and spotting my sister, hello!) I went to hthe library to look for her. She and Kheng Ling were where I expected them to be: First floor. I lamed a bit, well, just a little, and then helped Gabby out with some Maths questions which, FYI, is my best subject (maintained an A throughout my life). I tried to blog with her very impressive phone, but somehow everytime I tried posting it gave me a session timeout. I guess it just wasn't my day.

I stayed until 7, now I can't believe that, and went home straight. Got a shower, had dinner, and sat down to some Chinese and TV. It was fine. Then I got control of the computer, checked some usual stuff, and started on this.

Not a bad day. Not a bad day at all.

Sunday, September 19, 2004

There's a Social Studies exam tomorrow. There's also my Chinese Paper 1. It's 11.23 P.M. I'm still up, watching TV. So bite me.

I believe that if all the other people who are also taking the exam tomorrow takes this seriously, I would finally realise my fantasy of losing half my weight. Maybe more.

I spent an hour from 10 watching David Blaine. Which trick I loved the best? The one he said originated 2500 BC from a magician named "Didi": Yanking the head off a chicken, and then somehow putting it back, into a live and healthy chicken that it was.

If he lived in 10th century Europe, he would be burnt at stake for the practice of witchcraft. Maybe because people in the past simply refused to be amazed and hated seeing the amazer have this smug look on his face.

Maybe.

I sat through the commercials anyway, because I was, in a sense, too lazy to get off. Then I saw another ad for another charity show. Wow. This one's for cancer patients. Minimum donation? $6. You know I miss the times where the smallest one was $2 and the largest, $10. Now the largest can be any amount. This one's $50. I'm really starting to wonder how soon it would be when there was a charity show every month. And how the celebrities would find the time off working for money to come raise money for the patients for free. Unless, of course, they get paid for these.

This is what I call "emotional blackmail". They keep advertising, they keep pleaing, they keep telling you to "do your part". We sure do. Then another show pops up. We give some more. No problem. Then another one, and another one. One after another.

That's a lot of ones.

"So why 'emotional blackmail'? It's nothing bad. It's charity, for crying out loud. You make it sound like a crime."

It's so vague, isn't it? They keep showing you the images of the patients, how pitiful they are. They conduct interviews with these patients. They tell you, "please, help these people". The cancer show says "a little help is better than a lot of pity".

What are they trying to say? I don't know about them, but my interpretation of all these pleas and messages and how the people pester you on the streets? When they say "don't be like that". You think, "I have to give him my money or risk being branded as unkind. That's socially unacceptable! I cannot afford something like this."

They exploit on the one big weakness in all of us: Face.

All of us want face. When you don't donate the guys looks at you like you should burn in hell for this. When you do, hey, you should do it anyway. Like it's your responsibility.

That's all I'm saying for this.

There's this joke that goes:
In the first year of marriage, he speaks and she listens.
In the second year, she speaks and he listens.
In the third year, they speak and the nighbour listens.

Apparently there was a fourth line, that goes:
In the fourth year, their lawyers speak and the judge listens.

I thought it was quite good. Anyway. It still have that exam tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I'll be needing it.

To end this whole damn thing off, here's a quote I heard from the David Blaine show:
"For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. for those who do not, none will suffice." - Joe Dunninger

Woke up at around 10. Crawled out of bed and did the stuff you would do when you wake up. You know, brush your teeth. No? Then I guess... Hold on, how are you getting this? Stop intercepting Earth's communications! Get out! Now! You can't read this anyway. Unless you're from Star Wars, Star Trek or Andromeda.

Anyway. After that we went out to Woodgrove for brunch. Not ba...

Whew... Well.

The day was very plain. Anyway.

After school I just came back. Nothing on. Added some touches to my blog.

Having this big, freaking headache right now. Bio paper's tomorrow.

Possibly the worst combination any pure science student would face. Ah, well.

Guess I won't be seeing this for a long time. Stay tuned. Or whatever.

Thursday, September 16, 2004

Yeap! Today's quite fine.

Morning run, what a chore. But what the heck, I took a crap. Lessons went on as usual. Nothing interesting in particular. Oh, got a 34/40 for that Physics MCQ. Not bad.

It started raining at noon, and the weather was just cold throughout the rest of the day. Perfect for a nap.

After dinner there was... Singapore Idol!

Selected Wild card contenders:
  • Nur Hadanah
  • Andy Josh
  • Beverly
  • Shirin
  • Benjamin
  • Haizad
  • Nelson
  • Sylvester
  • Maia

My choice was: Maia
Favourites before performance(according to Today): Shirin, Maia.
Favourites after performance(my say): Maia, Beverly, (my mom said) Sylvester.

Wild cards: Maia (By judges), Sylvester (By votes), and the unexpected chosen third wild card by the judges, Beverly.

So my guess was right. And what Ken Lim said was right: Singapore can't be wrong two weeks in a row. This week Singapore's right, and I'm glad.

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

Alright. I have around twenty minutes. Good. Yesterday I was too busy changing the look of my blog I skipped yesterday's entry.

Yesterday we had Chemistry Practical. It went well. Lessons went on as usual. Played basketball after school. Knocked my knee hard into someone else's. Ouch.

Yah, I guess that's pretty much all from yesterday.

To today.

We had Biology practical this morning. It went fine. As how Goldilocks would say, "Juust right." Later we had really boring stuff going on, no real lessons anyway. A lot of peace and quiet. Not.

It was Chinese, the last periods of the day, and all of a sudden, there was a torrential downfall (I wonder if this term exists...) and I practically slided down the stairs after school. Had lunch with Barn. Hmm. After that I went home and met jo downstairs. Went up together. Hung around for a while, and he went back before dinner.

Then I got dinner. Then a bit of TV, then I finished up some last parts of the blog transforming.

There you go. My first entry in this new blog look!

  • First day of School...
Ah... Back to school. How do I feel? Mixed feelings, I guess. It's great to be back in school, but it can also be very frustrating.

The morning started with a mild run to the bus stop for the bus, and then a stand at the entrance because some of the you-know-whats were clogging up the bus, as usual. When I got to school, it didn't take five minutes for it to start drizzling. We got our stuff and headed to class.

We read for a while, and then we went down to the Physics lab for our Physics practical exam. It went well, for me, while some of the others had to get assistance in sacrifice of marks. Oh, well.

After that we had Chemistry until recess. Mmm... Canteen food. Kind of missed it. Cheap, good... Yeah, I do.

After recess was E Maths. We went through Paper 2 of the paper we did the last time, and I got 42.5% as well. That makes 85% overall. A1. Nice.

Then Physics. Ah, well. No further elaboration.

We had the CCA grading session. It went okay, I guess. Mine didn't look so good.

After that I went down for lunch, and went home.

Played ZotE, and rested.

Dinner.

The final episode of Friends was aired tonight! For those of you who missed it, you can go buy the VCD or you can come to my place to watch it. Sending it to you would be mad, as the whole file of the 1 hour finale is about 400 Megabytes. That's about 400,000 Kilobytes. Divide by 5. you get 80000 seconds. It takes you at least 22 hours on a regular 56kbps modem. So come to my place and watch it on my computer.

I guess that's all.

Exceptional...

This day started for me at noon. My sis was at the com. Fine. Got up, did the usual stuff, and ate my lunch. After a lot of stoning, we went out to Civic Centre.

We were to get our hair cut. The queue was long. Long as in a near half hour wait. Tired of waiting. The hair turned out fine. After that we went to Cold Storage to get food for dinner.

When we got back we watched more TV, ate, and then more TV.

Oh.... Man.

After that I got online and after I got bored of playing (yes, that is even possible), I wrote this.

Geez I have a boring life.

EDIT:

Oh, yeah, when I was browsing through Jo's blog I remember something I discovered about myself this afternoon before I went out. I looked into the mirror, and with sun blazing and all, my eyes are very brown! As in amber. You guys know amber? Something like that. Wow.

My legs...

I woke up laying on the floor. My handphone alarm I set last night was ringing. I cut the alarm, saw the time. 6.45. I sighed, crawled onto my bed and went back to sleep. When I woke up again, I looked at the time on my handphone again. 7.05. I dropped my head and went straight back to sleep. The next time I woke up was 7.25.

I got up finally, shoulder aching, went to the toilet to get a brush and to splash some water on my face. It was going to be a long day. I put on my contacts, shook my headache off, and changed into my basketball jersey. I brought extra clothes for changing, put on my Adidas shoes, and set off for school.

I got on 901 after about five minutes of waiting. After another five I reached the school front gate. I headed to the canteen from the back, and I saw Jeremy Yao and Adrian Pwi sitting at the benches, while Zhiming and Yangheng were shooting hoops at the court. I joined them after setting down my stuff, and it wasn't long before more people came.

By an hour later there were at least another dozen people here. Joseph, Jiawen, Kok Siang and Roy came. The others were all graduated seniors, the usual people. We played and played and played, until around 11.

We sat down, finally, and got some rest. I had thought my sister's camp ended in the evening, my mother said it was 4. I asked a Red Cross senior, as she passed by, when it ends. "One," came the reply. I thought, what? That early?

When it was 1, I met up with my sister. She told me she failed her promotion test, but got Best Cadet for the camp. Not bad. Yang Chiak got a double promotion! He's a Corporal now. Whoo wee. After that I got a change of clothes, and headed home while the rest went to Causeway Point. After a while they said they were coming. So they did, and they helped me buy my lunch. All of them; Roy, Yangheng, Yang Chiak, Chelsea and Ginny. They watched Scary Movie 3, and then Austin Powers 3: Goldmember. Ginny left halfway through that one. After the movie was over Yang Heng, Yang Chiak and Chelsea left. Roy and Joseph left before we had dinner.

After dinner I took a shower, and after a while used the com. Wanted to play Gunbound, but it wasn't working so I played Zone of the Enders on the Gameboy Advance emulator. After that I got a little bored so I took time to write a long one today.

Have a great one!

Some stuff...

After thinking it through, I don't honestly care who the wild card is anymore. Whoever it is, no matter how good, he/she's gonna lose anyway. I'm immensely frustrated with yesterday's results (I'm sure most people are) and I'm really doubting the possibility of finding a real Idol in Singapore.

You know who are going to be the final two? Jerry and Olinda. Yeah. I just realised Jerry isn't gonna be out by the first round, and Olinda's not gonna be swayed from the final round. You know why?

Jerry's got his "Lord and Saviour", (a little inappropriate, don't you think? You should know that religion is the number 1 taboo topic on TV!) and Olinda's got truck loads of money.

Link?

See it yourself.

Our Singapore Idol is going to be a disaster. No one's going to worship him/her. Jerry can go sing in his church to his fellow church goers and his "Lord and Saviour". Olinda can go home and freakin' sing in her own bathroom to her family and all her father's rich friends.

Please. I don't need another Sun Ho.

So if this is true (I hope not), my say on how the order of which the finalists go would be as follows (considering my Wild Card guess is correct, that Maia wins):
- Daphne
- Taufik
- Christopher
- Candice
- Maia
- David
- Leandra
- Jessie

Which leaves these two. Religion versus money. Who wins? I don't want to know.

This is so deepy conspiratory I don't want to go any deeper on why I said what I said.

That is all.

SI results...

And I'm back with the full results for the Singapore Idol finals and the Wild Card selection.

The finalists are:
- Jessie
- Olinda
- David
- Christopher
- Candice
- Daphne
- Leandra
- Jerry
- Taufik

Biggest shock is Jerry, who didn't do so well. He's first to be out , my prediction.

*******

The wild cards are:
- Benjamin (Group 1)
- Nanah (Group 3)
- Nelson (Group 2)
- Maia (Group 3)
- Andy (Group 1)
- Sylvester (Group 2)
- Haizad (Group 2)
- Shirin (Group 2)
- Beverly (Group 3)

Notice there are four Group 2s, three Group 3s and two Group 1s. 5 guys, 4 girls, an odd balance with the finalists' 4 guys and 5 girls. My prediction is that it's going to be a 3-way battle among the three Group 3s (that's a lot of threes), my prediction now is Maia, if her attitude this time can impress like it did before.

Sick in the gut...

Feeling a little nauseous right now. Ah, well.

Singapore Idol today was deeply disappointing. All of them either sang badly or chose a really bad song. Personal predictions are only 2: Beverly and Leandra. The rest, I don't know. Now we're about 50 minutes away from the full results, so I'll be watching out for it.

And my foot is still sprained. Unfortunately. Rubbed some cream on it. Hope it helps.

Back later with full results of this week's Singapore Idol.

Injuries...

Woke up this morning to go to 369 for basketball. Like crap today. My shots have been finding the rim whole morning, and it was getting frustrating. We played a friendly against the other guys at the other half, and lost because of the jinxed 3-pointer, not to mention I sprained my foot while trying to save the ball.

We ate, and left for the 512 basketball court. When we got there it was empty, and we decided to stay a while. After we were all frustrated about the shooting today we sat down and talked about stuff. Then we did some fast break training and left for my place.

When we got here we played Gunbound before they went outside to watch TV. After another while they came back in for more Gunbound, and then we all left for food downstairs. Then when I came up again my foot was hurting like crazy. I took a nap until when I woke up a while ago, and my foot began trying to kill me with the pain.

Now I hope it heals as fast as my wounds usually do. Dammit.

Let's try this out...

Went to school this morning for the A Maths mock exam. It went fine, I guess, for someone with my record. After that I just hung around with Joseph and Jiawen, who came earlier because a certain someone (me) fed him wrong information about when he should be here for the exam. Apparently he should have came later for the second one with his own class, but since he came early he took it with us. Some people weren't here today, so there were plenty of extra seats.

We went to Vista Point, where we bought some cards, bad luck today, and a brand new keyboard. It feels good typing on this one, especially the space bar. It feels so smooth...

When we came back me and Jo played Gunbound for a while, I grumbled at the 7 lap race again, and Jiawen got the com for a while until before dinner, when they went home. Then we had dinner (home cooked!), and I did the dishes. Oh, well. I watched some TV, got a call for basketball tomorrow, and here I am, baby!

Anything to highlight today? Oh, yeah, in the afternoon I saw a pic of Serene's. Ah, well, I was supposed to not talk about it, I promised, so I should keep it, no? It was rare, seeing one of your friends like that. Well, that's fresh.

ITDEFECDOLTIAENSENNNTARGNYFDSIOIEAET

Yeah, and I'm tired too. Turning in, have basketball tomorrow with the guys. Catch you later.

It happens...

"It happens." "It'll pass." "Just forget about it."
It did, it might, I can't.

I didn't update this yesterday because I figured, it's not compulsory for a daily update, and besides, I was too busy sleeping to write this.

You know how you think about something and just smile? Yeah, because it rarely happens to me anymore. I've had my head on my hand for the past ten minutes and I could think of was that dizzy feeling I have now.

The day started fine... I woke up for breakfast. Watched a little TV. Sis came back from school and went out again. Went down to buy lunch for me and dad and today's New Paper. Came back, ate lunch while I read the paper, and then played the com for a while. I got frustrated at a race in NFSU I got stuck in (7 lap race in one of the toughest courses), and read a bit of A Maths. Then Jiawen and Jo came over. We took turns on the com. Downloaded some anime soundtracks.

By dinner time Jiawen left, and my mum brought dinner for us. Jo played Gunbound and after a while we watched TV outside. Kept us busy until he left. I came in and wrote this.

Now my eyes are getting heavy. I'm losing my touch for staying up late. Maybe it's the incense, I don't know. Headache, damn. That's it.

Read Nikki's blog. Had something to say.

Selflessness is the biggest form of selfishness.

Agree? No? Our team had to debate that it wasn't. I think they lost.

Being selfless means what? To deprive yourself for others to benefit. Isn't that somesort of a biasness against yourself?

When you do something, in the end, someone has to benefit. Be it you or your friend, or the poor kid under NKF.

When you go out there, it's all about the one line: Survival of the fittest. Yeah, so, what? You gonna train that other guy up? No point being kind to other people when in the end, you suffer.

If you're nice to me, so you're not an enemy. That doesn't make you a friend. No. You are an acquaintance until we communicate and get to know each other better. Then you are a friend.

Is it on your conscience when you are selfish? It's your choice. You choose if it grapples on you and if it keeps telling you "you're evil, you're mean, you're not human!" Conscience is how people have been telling you to feel when you do something since young, in accordance to their moral principles. Then in turn, you will fit into that frame and adapt that same set of moral values. People who are stricter are conservative, people who are more relaxed are immoral.

It's all about balance. Yeah, that's what they all say. How do you know? You don't. Some don't care. So should you? You could, but how much can you do? How you behave has been a mould of what people around you behave around you.

I'll stop here. Stomachache.

To celebrate half a hundred...

It's been a long day, and I've thought for a while. I don't know, but I guess I've come to a point in my life where I finally identify myself.

I'm the guy who you hang out with to make yourself look better. The guy you would only go to (swear on this) only if you have a favour to ask.

A little indulgence in self-pity there, no doubt, just leave me alone. I guess that should be easy for most of you. The level of which I'm sorry about and angry at myself is beyond what I have ever imagined.

The last time I was asked to tag along for something? Months.
The last time someone talked to me without asking for a favour? Days.
The last time I went out for some fun with a few people? Weeks.

I'm not desperate. I'm not sad. I'm exasperated. I'm tired. I'm... In a loss for words.

I've lost it.

I've forgotten how to bring a smile to people's faces. I've forgotten how to, when a lone, not think and sigh about this. My so-called talents are fading. My headaches get worse and worse. I'm totally oblivious to everything people's talking about. No one takes me seriously.

If you have so much as thought about it while reading this, I thank you. Otherwise, I have nothing to say.

And don't say anything. Do not speak a word. Just... Think. Yeah, that would great for me.

将军(General)...

Interesting or infuriating? Take your pick...

Morning was okay. We had English Prelims today. Wrote about blackout. Paper 2 was okay, the passage was about blogs. Hmm, interesting.

After the exam I hung out downstairs and played a little basketball until it rained. After a while I went home, played NFSU until I stupidly patched it.

Went down for dinner, the seats were so small it was inhumane. Forget about it, now I want to sleep.

Ciao!

EDIT (04/Sep 10.46 AM) -
I should have mentioned that it was a Ghosts' Festical Dinner again at the basketball court downstairs. Not to mention the ladies who were serving the drinks... The one serving beer looks like she should go drown her sorrows in alcohol. I cramped my thigh a little, not good. When I first got up to walk around my knee joints hurt. I just remember when I was typing that up there last night I was nodding my head. Too sleepy. Starting to hallucinate or somesort. Creepy.

'Sup y'all...

Took a break yesterday to finally finish Digital Fortress. Had a very usually early night. I can't remember the last time I slept at 9.30 PM. I think I woke up at around 1 AM. Went back to sleep.

This morning it rained so we didn't have mass run. First two periods were English and were free. After that a period of Bio and then 2 more free periods of Chinese.

After recess was Social Studies. Then Chem. Then a last period of Physics. And oh, not to mention a surprise fire drill before last period. We were doing Chem and all of a sudden the stupid alarm goes off. I thought it was a prank, but when we saw Mrs. Song downstairs doing the ushering herself, we knew this was fake, but true enough for the school.

We took 5 minutes and 6 seconds, which, I think, is way past target time. Maybe we can do that again next time, with a real fire this time.

After school I played basketball for about a half hour, and waited before coming back with Jiawen and Jo. We saw Scary Movie 3... It's good.

After they left we went out to Chinatown for this Hungry Ghosts' Festival dinner. It was okay, and it made me miss today's Singapore Idol. I had to get Pearlyn to update me.

Apparently only 2 of the 3 favourites got in; Christopher Lee and Daphne Khoo. The last one wasn't Joanna Dong, though, it was Candice Foo.

Which makes the current 6 finalists:
- David Yeo
- Jess-what?
- Olinda Cho
- Christopher Lee
- Candice Foo
- Daphne Khoo

2 guys, 4 girls. Hmm...
