EA Play 2007

I went to EA Play last Saturday. It was at SIM HQ Atrium, and it wasn't very big. But it was okay.



There was a main frame in the middle seperated into 3 sections:

Registration/Enquiries/Administration/Merchandise Counter,



PS3 demos(Fight Night Round 3),



and Wii demos(Need For Speed: Carbon and SSX Blur).



The four corners were 360 and PC demos, with one 360 corner playing FIFA 2007,



the other playing Def Jam Icon and NBA Street Homecourt,



and the two PC corners playing Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars



and Battlefield 2142.



There was also a big screen in at the front stage area that was playing Burnout: Revenge.

Of course the first thing I noticed was that the entire crew was wearing the purple Scrin T-shirts. I saw this really huge guy in one and I hope I can wear my GDI one when I get it next week. Then I can wear it in my green jacket and look like a GDI officer, heh heh.

I spent most of the day watching and trying some of the games. I tried Carbon on the Wii, and it was pretty nice. But of course nothing will beat a real wheel in your hands.

I also joined this side event thing and got 4th/5th placing. Managed to win an MTV cap and a Sims 2: Pets lanyard.

I managed to play with the Scrin tech tree in C&C 3 near the end of the day. It was nice and a very important thing was that they didn't need silos for extra tiberium. Although at the pro level you wouldn't even see silos being built. Then I tried the first couple of missions for the Nod campaign and left when they were closing up.

Mav, the Mat and Peaceful were there too.

Mav was there with his BF clan Jedi for the 2142 tournament. The clan got 3 out of the top 4 places, and I heard BFNut (supposedly Singapore's top BF clan) got knocked out earlier on before the event.

The Mat was there with his girlfriend, and they only stayed a while. He did manage and stay for a couple of round of Carbon on the 360 with me and Mav before he left.

Peaceful was there later than he said earlier. He was with a friend, so I didn't bother him much. They tried out C&C 3 around the same time I did too, and we tried out Def Jam Icon. It seems a little stupid seeing all these rappers beating the shit out of each other. Well, whatever.

At the end of the day I bought a Carbon mug and helped the Mat buy a keychain, presumably for his girlfriend.

The counter was selling C&C 3 preorder cards too, and they had a sample launch package on display at the side. It looked great, which made me even more anxious about the launch.

So I guess that's all to talk about EA Play 2007.
