So today we are officially back to school, and so far... Lur-ving it. There wasn't sharing from either of the VPs this morning... Kinda disappointed.
So we got our marks. Mine... Looks bad. So far.
Here's a rundown on my 8 subjects: English Language, Chinese Language, Elementary Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Combined elective Humanities (Social Studies/Geography). So far I've gotten grades for 4 subjects. For English I have a B3. I failed Chemistry at D7, Biology's worse at F9 and for Physics I finally got the A1.
I'm looking for E Math my best subject and the A Maths tomorrow. And I think I'll get to know the Combined Humanities grade tomorrow too. And Chinese.
Let's hope.
Anyway after school I just stayed there. Partly because I found no point going home then because it was going to be absolutely boring at home. And because it was raining.
Again.
Now I'm beginning to hate the rain. It's been coming at all the wrong times. When I'm busy with whatever it is it's so sunny and clear. And then just before I'm done it starts booming and by the time I'm done, it's pouring.
I HATE IT.
Anyway, it's Thursday so it's... Singapore Idol night! today's the first of the eliminating rounds that will continue for the next nine weeks or so. Candice withdrew from the competition, and according to Gurmit Singh, "because of personal commitments". So I guess it's okay with me. i never got to hear her sing.
So we end up with eleven finalists tonight. Their songs were picked by their parents, so all of them date back to at least the eighties. Let's summarise (and add to) what the judges said.
1) Leandra - She did pretty well... Yes. Sounded like the cute girl she was. - 7/10
2) Jerry - I didn't even bother to pay attention. I was somewhere else. - 3/10
3) Christopher - I have to agree he was a bit too drama. Good voice, though. - 6/10
4) Maia - I don't know how they gauge how explosive she is. But she had some substance there. - 7/10
5) Taufik - It was fine... - 6/10
6) Beverly - She overdid the song. I thought she was in a middle of an earthquake. - 6/10
7) David - My favourite. Sadly, tonight he didn't so as well as the first piano show. - 6/10
8) Daphne - She came across to me as a first time listener as being very "act cute". I think many people had this view? I think it's okay. - 6/10
9) Jeassea - She was great once again, but just lacked something there. - 7/10
10) Olinda - I'm more surprised than Dick with the change in her this week. Seems she toned the ego down a little. The singing was good. - 7/10
11) Sylvester - He looked a little too serious for him, strangely. The singing was still good. - 6/10
I'll stick to Jerry being out first.
So... Have a great one!
